News on research
As mentioned in the newsletter in January, we regularly follow up on subscribed journals for BFI lists. Via the link below, you will find a status of journals included in the BFI lists.
If you have a journal that you would like to be included in the BFI list, or need help with this, please contact our reporting officer, Steffen at smje@bio.aau.dk. Before submitting new proposals to the BFI lists, it is important to keep track of the following:
- The name of the committee that has to assess the journal before any admission to the BFI list (click here).
- Information about the peer-review process, including a link to the website where it appears. If it does not appear on the website, it is necessary to write an email to the publisher and ask them to submit a description of the peer-review process.
- The journal's own description of "purpose" and justification.

FAQ FOR YOU WHO HAVE ACCESSED THE UNIVERSITY
We have recently seen an increased reopening of the university. In principle, however, everyone must continue to have a negative coronal test. There are exceptions, i.a. if you have been vaccinated or have been infected and a certain period has passed. The rules and guidelines are complex and changed several times, but they are continuously updated on the university's FAQ FOR YOU WHO HAVE ACCESSED THE UNIVERSITY. If you are in doubt about your own situation and cannot find answers here, questions can be directed to coronavirus@aau.dk.
New system for registration of absence
AAU has introduced a new staff system (“Statens HR” or “SHR”) which will replace the present AAU systems applied to register absence/holidays and will further digitalize the processes for e.g. holiday approval and registration of days absent.
Self-service
The SHR system includes a self-service solution allocated to all staff members that will enable each employee to see private data for days absent and balances for accrued holidays, child care days and possible senior days in the system. By means of the self-service solution, all staff members will also be able to register own holidays, child care days and senior days directly in the SHR system. You will be able to access the self-service solution via both computer and cell phone. For now and until the end of this holiday year (to expire by 31 August 2021), we have decided to continue standard procedure for holiday registration. Thus, the holiday periods that you have already planned and reported for the upcoming holiday year will be processed by your present registrant no later than 28 May 2021.
By 31 May 2021, you are kindly requested to check whether your holidays recorded in the system are correct and balances updated accordingly. Please contact your registrant if you have any changes to add. As of 1 September 2021 and start of the new holiday year, you will be in charge of registering your own holidays, child care days and senior days. NB: Please make sure that your information on future holidays planned is always correct and updated to ensure that you are covered by relevant insurance in terms of work-related accidents.
Log-in to “Statens HR” (SHR)
In order to log into SHR on your computer or cell phone, please use this link – then add the link to your favourite links. You can also access the self-service solution via the AAU website for administrative systems (go to “Statens HR-fraværsmodul”). Please find instructions for the SHR self-service solution at the AAU HR website. If you prefer a full English user interface, we recommend you to change this setting when you log into the system for the first time – see below instructions to get started:
- Self-Service – Getting Started
- Register holiday via self-service
- Guide for registering child care days or senior days via self-service
You will find more information on child care days, senior days and holidays (to be translated into English soonest) in the AAU Handbook. If you have any questions on the SHR self-service solution, please feel free to contact our local finance department via oekonomi@bio.aau.dk.
Service hours during summer holidays – International Staff Unit (ISU)
Due to the upcoming summer holidays, the International Staff Unit will be closed during week No. 30, but will be available to a limited extent during weeks 28-29 and 31. You are therefore kindly requested to submit documentation and enquiries on future employments and PhDs in due time and at the very latest in week No. 26.
News from the Department committees
The minutes from the Department committee meeting are now available online:
Meeting schedule for the Department committees
It is important for both employees and students at AAU to be involved in the governing bodies as this provides an opportunity get influence. Therefore, in the future, an updated meeting schedule for each Department committee will be included in the newsletter, so that you know in good time when the meetings are scheduled. Please note that the agenda is prepared well in advance of the meetings, which is why any subject for the agenda should be submitted to the committee's representatives no later than one month before the date of the meeting. You will find the representatives of the committees here.
